The Women’s Resource Center, of Limestone County, is a non-profit, independent organization dedicated to providing assistance to women, their relatives, and/or companions who may be facing an unplanned pregnancy, or difficult circumstances. The Womens Resource Center was established in 1987. They receive accurate information on the development of the unborn child, abortion procedures, alternatives to abortion, and various assistance services to clients at no charge. All this is provided with a loving and compassionate spirit to help these women make informed decisions. Our volunteer client advocates operate a hotline and Women’s Resource Center where spiritual, emotional, and physical needs can be met with confidentiality. The Center depends wholly on the financial giving of area churches and individual donors to provide this vital service to the Athens/Limestone community.
The Center operates daily under the leadership of the Executive Director who has been carefully selected by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors provides a professional mix that ensures all areas of the ministry stay in focus, consisting of members from professional fields and pastoral ministry. The Board serves as the leadership for direction, financial support, community involvement, and various community events.
“I am thankful for the support the center gives me. Having people in my life who are willing to
support me in tough times and help me learn things about being a good mom, a good wife, and a good Christian are a blessing.” – Client
